Like many regions, the Austin, TX Hill County offers extraordinary views, but presents unique challenges when it comes to building a pool or deck in your backyard. So, how do you build a pool on a hill? Here’s how Ocean Quest Pools took a slanted backyard and transformed it into a beautiful retreat for the homeowners.
The Outdoor Fireplace
Taking advantage of the sloped terrain, the pool was designed with 3 levels. On the upper level, a beautiful outdoor fireplace and lounge area was constructed. Using the hill created a great place to relax and take in the view from a more elevated position.
The Pool
Not only is this pool gorgeous, it’s also functional! See those three waterfalls? The stone wall connecting them is acting as a retaining wall. And, the slope on the left side was used to tie in with the outdoor kitchen by creating a swim up bar!
The Outdoor Kitchen
No Hill Country outdoor space is complete without a great outdoor kitchen. OQP not only utilized the slope for the swim up bar, the hill also provides a great view of the Hill Country while your smoking, grilling, frying, and everything in-between. The cedar arbor with dual fans keeps the cook cool in the summer time.
Conclusion
No matter what type of landscape you’re working with, there’s a solution that can function great and look even better.
