What makes Fijian mahogany so special? Every forest in Fiji is regulated by the Fijian government, who strictly manage the sustainability and milling process of their mahogany. Through Fiji's world-renowned certification programs, we are one of the select few suppliers of this high quality product. Now there's no need to travel halfway around the world to experience a tropical oasis.
THE SOFTER SIDE OF HARDWOODS
Although it's the least dense of all hardwoods, Fijian mahogany is still extremely durable and resistant to scratching. According to the Janka Hardness Test, this product is two to three times harder than cedar or redwood. With it's reddish brown hues and tropical colors, Fijian mahogany proves to be a perfect choice for any outdoor oasis.
WE TREAT OUR MAHOGANY RIGHT
As a hardwood, Fijian mahogany does offer some resistance to rot and insects. To make sure your deck is built to last, we pre-treat all our Fijian mahogany against mold, rot, fungus, and insects. Taking this extra step keeps your project looking new and staying strong years longer than a typical softwood product.
A TROPICAL LOOK NEEDS ATTENTION TO DETAIL
Coming from a tropical environment like Fiji, it's important to acclimate this mahogany properly. Instead of the typical method of air-drying, all our Fijian mahogany is kiln-dried for maximum strength and resistance to warping or cracks. When it comes to producing a high quality product, attention to detail makes all the difference.
THIS HARDWOOD WON'T PUT UP A FIGHT
As the softest hardwood option, Fijian mahogany is much easier to install than the typical hardwood like ipe. Since it's still a hardwood, this product is also very easy to maintain. To keep the illustrious look of this exotic hardwood, all you need is an UV inhibiting sealant applied once a year. Not sure where to look? We carry everything you need in stock.
SUSTAINABLE FROM THE START
Owned by the Fijian government, mahogany forests only sell to a select few so this product can stay sustainable and manageable for decades to come. Partnered with Overseas Hardwood Company (OHC), we have direct access to Fjian mahogany decking products. We work hard at finding the best products and the best practices for maintaining those products.
