1010 West 10th
What does over 51,000 lineal feet of hardwood siding look like? It looks like the perfect finish to downtown Austin's latest luxury urban living residence: 1010 W. 10. Situated on, you guessed it, 1010 West 10th St., the 3 story, 14 residence condo was developed by JB Cumby Construction and designed by Alterstudio. The entire complex was wrapped with a mix of 31,784 lf of Horizontal Garapa siding and 19,642 lf of Vertical Ipe Siding. Oiled before it was installed, the warm brown tones of the two tropical hardwoods surrounding the outside turns heads of those walking or driving by. The siding was imported, hand-sorted and custom-milled by Overseas Hardwoods Co. to a tex-gap profile: which has a tongue and groove to lock the boards in place while still giving the appearance of a shiplap siding. Choosing hardwoods like Garapa and Ipe ensure the stunning exterior architecture won't be compromised by constant warping, cracking, or necessary staining.
