Pressure Treated Yellow Pine

Treated Yellow Pine Built for the Job

For decades, pressure treated lumber has been one of the most widely used materials for exterior framing and structural applications. From deck framing and posts to walkways, stairs, and outdoor structures, treated Southern Yellow Pine continues to be a dependable choice for projects exposed to the elements.

At TimberTown, we stock MCA treated Southern Yellow Pine in a #1 Ground Contact grade built for demanding exterior use. MCA (Micronized Copper Azole) treatment helps protect against rot, fungal decay, and termite damage, while the #1 grade provides a stronger, cleaner board compared to lower-grade treated material. The MCA treatment process has also received EPD certification from Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) based on its life cycle assessment, making it a more modern approach to treated lumber without sacrificing performance.

Available through TimberTown in Austin, Atlanta, and Nashville.

#1 Ground Contact Matters

Not all treated pine is the same. TimberTown carries #1 Ground Contact, which gives builders a stronger, cleaner, more reliable board than lower-grade treated options. Ground Contact treatment is made for tougher conditions where wood may be close to soil, exposed to moisture, or used in places where drying is limited.

It is commonly used for:

  • Deck framing
  • Posts and beams
  • Blocking
  • Exterior stair framing
  • Boardwalks and walkways
  • Outdoor structures
  • Jobsite framing details exposed to weather

Built for Framing, Not Guesswork

Treated Yellow Pine is often hidden behind the finished project, but it still matters. The quality of the framing impacts how everything else performs.

That is why TimberTown focuses on stocking treated pine that builders can count on. Whether it is supporting a deck, walkway, stair system, or exterior structure, the right treated material helps create a better build from the inside out.
