UT Charter School

The University of Texas-Universitiy Charter School (UT-UCS) program is comprised of 23 campuses serving 500 k-12 students within hospitals, residential treatments centers, shelters, and other facilities. The UT-UCS Elementary School is a research-based demonstration school in the heart of East Austin that serves urban students from pre-k through fifth grade.

In an effort to revitalize the space between the modular buildings, UT-UCS built a new boardwalk using capped composite decking by MoistureShield. Installed by Caleb Wheeler of Centex Decks, this sprawling boardwalk weaves between 10 modular classrooms and provides a wonderful courtyard experience for students. With MoistureShield Vantage Collection's limited lifetime warranty, this project will look great, require little-to-no maintenance and last for many years to come. Centex Decks used the Rustic Cedar color for the stairs and Cape Cod Gray for the decking to mimic the UT Charter School colors. All in all, this deck and boardwalk will provide a safe and stress-free environment for students to learn.
