Garapa

Hailing from South America, this hardwood has a light color similar to Clear Cedar. Garapa isn't quite as dense as Ipe, but what it lacks in density this product makes up for in consistency, beauty, and affordability.

Decking & Porch Flooring

Garapa is great for decking and porch flooring because it is naturally resistant to the primary causes of decay and rot, which include insects and harsh climates. But, using a hardwood product doesn't mean keeping the color you fell in love with has to be a challenge. By applying a UV inhibiting oil once a year Garapa will stay as beautiful as the day it was installed. No need to wander a big home improvement store looking for the right product, we have what you need in stock!

Installation

Tropical hardwoods can provide their fair share of challenges when it comes to installation.  That's why we provide the tools and resources necessary to keep you looking like a pro on the job site. Here are some tips and tools for installing Hardwood decking and siding.

When the heat is on, Garapa stays strong.

If not properly acclimated to it's environment, Garapa has a tendency to shrink or crack over time. The best way to keep your deck lasting fifteen years or more is by using only kiln-dried (using heat) Garapa instead of air-dried. How do you know you have kiln-dried product? We can't speak for other suppliers, but we only stock kiln-dried Garapa.
