The Yacht Club pool, for example, recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and features a 27-person lagoon-style whirlpool, a bar, two pools, and a massive sun deck covered with Ipe hardwood decking. Three Living Architecture and Design in Dallas and Talley Associates in Dallas served as the architects on the clubhouse project. Using Ipe ensures the sun deck can handle high traffic and being exposed to the elements year after year. The sun has lightened the Ipe to a uniform patina gray, which gives the area a natural look, complimenting the lagoon-like features. Ipe was also used around the bar alongside Cedar soffits.
