Installation begins by marking bracket heights on each post. The guide outlines the standard rail heights—36″ or 42″—and specifies the correct location for both the top and bottom bracket bases. Installers must measure 4-1/8″ above the deck surface for the bottom bracket and 36″ or 42″ for the top bracket before drilling pilot holes and securing the brackets.
For rails that require trimming, the guide provides detailed instructions on centering the bottom rail between posts, aligning baluster slots, and ensuring equal spacing on both sides.
