Are you paying too much for vertical grain cedar?
It was the Temptations that sang "Beauty is only skin Deep".
According to THIS product, that's a good thing.
That's because their engineered wood cladding takes the highest possible grade of vertical grain domestic wood and turns it into a veneer. By doing that, they get 16 vertical grain boards out of a single 1" full-thickness board, which cuts down on cost and makes their cladding easier to get compared to full-thickness vertical grain cedar or Doug Fir.
Once Rainier Plank is installed, you would never know those aren't full-thickness boards. So, does it make sense to pay a premium for the 90% of the board you don't see?
That’s up to you.
Rainier Plank's commercial-grade adhesive goes through a boil test and comes with a 10-year limited warranty. Their products are made in the USA and come in a variety of species, dimensions, and profiles.
