Ipe
If you want to build something that can outlast you, start with Ipe.
Harvested from managed forests in Brazil, Ipe is the most popular tropical hardwood—and it has earned that reputation where ordinary lumber can’t keep up. Used in high-traffic landmarks like the Coney Island Boardwalk, it is naturally resistant to rot, insects, and wear, making it a proven choice for decking, siding, and architectural details.
That density demands sharp tools, proper spacing, stainless steel fasteners, and predrilling. TimberTown can predrill and custom mill Ipe before delivery, reducing fieldwork and helping builders get the installation right.
Leave Ipe unfinished and it will weather to a silver-gray patina. To maintain more of its rich brown color, use a pigmented ProCoat with UV protection. Our Austin, Atlanta, and Nashville teams can help you choose the right dimensions, profiles, and finish for your project.
Pre-Sanded Decking
Not only do we pre-sort all of our Ipe to ensure we sell a high quality and uniform grade, we also pre-sand all of our Ipe decking to remove banding marks and imperfections. Our Ipe goes beyond a commodity so it can be trusted on projects where impressive is important.

Deck Tiles
Ipe deck tiles are an ideal solution for rooftop decks, events, or projects requiring access below the decking surface. Available in a standard 2’x2’ square, deck tiles combined with a pedestal system allow for pipes, wires, and other equipment to remain under the deck with easy access to these elements if necessary.
